We have received the first leak of the upcoming Mi Smart Band 7 with the possible images. The next Xiaomi smart band could launch in April or May, but looks like Xiaomi’s eyes are on another big project. This is what we can say from its latest patent filed in the home country. As per the GizmoChina report, Xiaomi has filed a new patent in China that says much about the next fitness tracker. The patent shows Xiaomi will introduce a flexible display on the Mi Smart Band. Of course, it is not the Band 7, perhaps Mi Band 8 or Mi Band 9.
The patent leaked with the first image says it will be a ‘smart bracelet’ with a rollable screen. If it is said to be true, then it is the first time the company will change the regular path for a new adventure. Since the first Mi Band, all the Mi Band series bands have received the same traditional display. Of course, every year there is a bump in screen size but they all look the same to their rivals. The next Band 7 to have a larger display than the current Mi Smart Band 6, which already counts a 1.56-inch screen.
The filed patent reminds us of the Amazfit X tracker from Huami, which is again, a working partner of Xiaomi. The Amazfit X was launched in 2020 with some promising features & a flexible screen. The Amazfit X was not quite that successful in any market, but it showed courage to built unique designs. We should wait for Xiaomi’s turn to launch the flexible smart band to make any final words.
